At The Lutheran Academy our religion program is based on faith and grounded in Holy Scriptures. The Bible is an important tool for learning not only about God, but about life in this world. From the time of the Reformation, the Lutheran Church has been a leader in providing a Christian education for every child. As a school sponsored and operated by Concordia Lutheran Church, we continue that history as well as the 150 year tradition of education of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
Weekly Chapel Services
Led by a pastor, the weekly worship service includes prayers, songs, scripture reading, and a message applying God’s Word to the students’ lives.
Daily prayers & devotions
Students participate in devotions with prayer each morning as well as learn to offer prayers before lunchtime.
Regular Religion Classes
A key part of our Bible-based program for all grade levels. Younger students begin with Bible stories and songs and begin to learn to relate those stories to life skills and Christian values. As students progress through the grade levels, they begin to take the Scriptures further, exploring application to their lives and in the process learning about morals and Biblical values. The curriculum includes study of both Old and New Testament Scriptures as well as creeds, prayers and the Ten Commandments. The upper grades also study world religions and church history.
Life skills/Christian values
Our religion classes include a focus on Biblically based values and morals, helping students to develop the life skills to live in a God pleasing way. Students learn about Christ and His love for us and how that motivates the way we treat each other. We focus on four different life skills each quarter.
